Organizers of Eurobike, Masse Friedrichshafen, have announced that they are moving this year's show from September to November and also changing the format slightly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Eurobike 2020 will be held from 24 to 26 November 2020 which had previously been announced as Plan B dates.
In a press release organizers stated that given the ban in Germany on major events until 29 August 2020 and the scale of preparations and procedures for Eurobike, holding the show just two days later would be practically impossible.
Eurobike Project Manager, Dirk Heidrich noted, “It is not inconceivable that we will still all be following the social distancing regulations in November.”
Additionally, the show has canceled events, such as the Public Day, Eurobike Party, Test and Demo Areas and other elements from the supporting program in order to focus on B2B aspects.
Because of the shorter duration and lower concentration, exhibitors will be offered cost benefits in the form of reduced booth prices.
Further information is available on the Eurobike website.
Eyes will now turn to the next major bike industry event, Taichung Bike Week due to be held in Taichung at the end of September. So far, TBW has not announced a rescheduling, although organizers have said they are monitoring the situation closely and will make a decision in June.
