Merida Industries has announced that the group's consolidated revenue in March was NT$1.9 billion, up 3.85% from the same period last year. The number of units sold was 84,259 units, an increase of 1.31% per year. In March, the export of electric bicycles increased significantly.
According to statistics from Merida, the revenue from January to March was NT$5.2 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 5.67%, while sales were 206,270 units, a year-on-year decrease of 9.65%.
Merida pointed out that its Taiwanese factory, which mainly exports high-end bicycles and electric bicycles to the European and American markets, sold 45,721 units in March, a year-on-year decrease of 2.96%, but revenue was NT$1.3 billion, an annual increase of 0.70%. From January to March, the cumulative sales were 136,557 units, a year-on-year decrease of 15.23%, and the cumulative revenue of the Taiwanese plant from January to March was NT$3.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 11.17%.
Merida said that among the bicycles exported, the number of e-bikes sold in March increased by 48% year-on-year, and the number of electric bicycles sold in the first quarter increased by 57% year-on-year.
