For the past 40 years, many high end sport products are made by carbon fiber reinforced thermoset polymer based air bladder forming technology. Regardless where we go, we have been seeing the same manufacturing process and same material used for such applications. As this hand-made process is highly dependent on manual labor, and cannot be mass produced, Astro was inspired to come up with a different and creative idea, the application of thermoplastic for frame making.

Different from thermoset polymer, thermoplastic has the following characteristics:
