Bianchi has ushered in a new era with the inauguration of a cutting-edge production plant. This significant event took place at their renovated Treviglio facility, with the presence of company president and owner, Cavaliere Salvatore Grimaldi.
The new factory, located on Via delle Battaglie in Treviglio, has been Bianchi's headquarters for over 50 years. The renovation, a collaborative effort with the City of Treviglio, signifies a major milestone in the company’s illustrious history.
"I am proud of this new factory that best represents the innovative spirit of Bianchi," said Cavaliere del Lavoro Salvatore Grimaldi. "Despite the challenges the bicycle industry is currently facing, today we are inaugurating one of the most advanced manufacturing plants in the world. The new plant also represents a symbol of resilience. We have invested not only in a factory, but in our new home — this is a sign of the enormous confidence we have in our people, our brand, and our products. The future of Bianchi starts here."
Completed in 24 months, the new facility places Bianchi at the forefront of Industry 5.0 in Italy, utilizing sustainable, innovative, and cutting-edge solutions that emphasize human-centered design. The production line has a capacity of 500 bicycles per shift and incorporates fully digitized workstations, eliminating all material handling steps to enhance efficiency.
In line with its green ethos, the factory features a 500 kW photovoltaic system, ensuring energy autonomy during the summer. Indoor temperatures are maintained at a constant 23°C, and all plant management functions are automatically controlled. The design also prioritizes employee well-being, with ergonomic workstations and advanced technology-assisted workflow studies. An in-house academy has been established for ongoing staff training. The facility also includes a new showroom displaying Bianchi’s most iconic historical models, reflecting the brand’s rich heritage.
