The World Bicycle Industry Association (WBIA) has appointed Bayram Akgül, leader of Salcano Bicycle Company, as its new President. Akgül, also a member of the CONEBI Board since November 2023, plans to strengthen global partnerships, enhance operations, and advocate for cycling at the UN. Bob Margevicius, Vice-President of Specialized Bicycle Components, was named WBIA Vice-President, with a mission to highlight the value of cycling globally.

Other new WBIA board members include Robert Wu, Chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Association, and Aditya Munjal from Hero Motors in India. The leadership team is committed to advancing the global bicycle industry, promoting sustainability, and fostering international collaboration.
