Merida Sees Growth, Giant Faces Decline in 2024

Merida's 2024 annual revenue reached NT$29.647 billion, marking a 9.1% growth compared to 2023. In contrast, Giant's 2024 total revenue amounted to NT$71.255 billion, a 7.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.

The global bicycle industry has been grappling with slow inventory turnover over the past two years. Looking ahead to 2025, Giant is optimistic about growth in the European, American, and Chinese markets. Meanwhile, Merida anticipates growth in Europe and the US due to lower inventory levels, but foresees potential decline in the Chinese market, as its base is already high, and the overall situation remains to be seen.

Merida’s revenue for December 2024 was NT$1.797 billion, showing a 17.6% year-on-year increase. For the full year, their revenue grew by 9.1% to NT$29.647 billion. Additionally, shipments for electric-assisted bicycles were delayed, with production beginning on December 17, 2024, and will be reflected in January's revenue.

Giant's consolidated revenue for December 2024 was NT$4.11 billion, a 1.43% decrease from December 2023. For the full year, the company reported a total of NT$71.255 billion, down 7.4% compared to the previous year.
